Effective: September 21, 2026
1. Tav identity
Tav Messenger is designed around a Tav ID rather than requiring a phone number or email address for ordinary messaging identity. Identity keys are generated for use by the client.
2. Message content
Message content is end-to-end encrypted on supported Tav Messenger clients before delivery through the network. The relay handles encrypted message envelopes and is not designed to require your private identity keys to deliver them.
3. Service data
The service may process technical information needed to operate, secure and maintain the network, such as Tav addresses, public keys, device registration information, encrypted envelopes, timestamps, network requests, rate-limit information and operational logs.
4. Retention
Encrypted pending messages and operational records may be retained for limited periods required for delivery, synchronization, abuse prevention, reliability and service operation. Some records may be removed earlier or retained longer when required for security, legal compliance or technical integrity.
5. Tracking and advertising
Tav Messenger is not designed around behavioral advertising or selling message content. The public website may receive ordinary web-server request information necessary to deliver the site.
6. Security
No internet service can promise absolute security. Users should protect recovery material, passwords and devices. Tav Messenger will never need you to publicly share private cryptographic keys to receive ordinary support.
7. Changes
This policy may be updated as Tav Messenger evolves. Material revisions will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page.
8. Contact
Privacy questions can be sent to Tavmessenger@outlook.com or through the contact page.
